Russell H. Margenthaler

	Russell H. 'Mackey' Margenthaler, age 91, of Pinckneyville, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at 6:50 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit.
	Russell was born in Pinckneyville on August 16, 1912, a son of John and Florence (Kuhnert) Margenthaler.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy Gemmill and she survives.
	 During his lifetime, Russell was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pinckneyville.  He worked as a coal miner, was a member of the UMWA and a member of the Mitchell Lodge #85, A.F. & A.M. of Pinckneyville.  He was very interested in quail hunting and training bird dogs.  Russell loved sports and enjoyed following his sons and grandsons in their sports activities.
	Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Don and wife Sherry of Moline and Jack and wife Mary Beth of Glen Carbon; four grandchildren, Jacki Guinn and husband Max, Russell and Matt Margenthaler and Ty Margenthaler and wife Julie; eight great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rob, Harold and Charles and two sisters, Pauline Hobbs and Doris Koerner.
	Funeral services were held on Monday, April 12 at 3 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville with Rev. Jim Barnett officiating.  Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the United Methodist Church on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
	The family would prefer memorials to the United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
	Arrangements  were by Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville.
